The battery is one of the most important parts of your device. That’s why we give it extra attention at Forza. Every refurbished device you buy from us has a battery with a minimum capacity of 85%. That’s more than enough for everyday use.
What does battery capacity mean?
Battery capacity indicates how much energy your battery can still store compared with when it was new. A battery with a capacity of 85% therefore retains 85% of its original charge. Every battery gradually wears out through use. This is normal and applies to every device, new or refurbished.
What do we do with batteries below 85%?
We also check the battery during our 50-point test. Does a battery have a capacity of less than 85%? Then we replace it. This way, you can be sure that your device has a battery you can rely on.
Can I choose a new battery?
Yes. If you buy a refurbished iPhone, you can choose a new battery with a capacity of 100% when purchasing the product. This is useful if you use your device intensively or want to use it for as long as possible.
I see a battery notification on my iPhone. Is something wrong?
No, you don’t need to worry. Have you chosen a new battery, or have we replaced the battery because its capacity was below 85%? A notification may then appear, such as Important Battery Message or Unknown Part.
This is because your iPhone keeps track of which parts are inside it. If a part has not been replaced by Apple itself, your iPhone will let you know. This notification says nothing about the quality or performance of the battery. Your device works just as it should. A notification actually means that there is a new battery in your device.
How do I resolve the battery notification?
In most cases, you can resolve the notification yourself. Your iPhone first needs to approve the replacement battery. You can do this in a few minutes:
- Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version, sufficiently charged and able to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings. At the top, you will see the notification Finish Your Battery Repair (Complete your battery repair). Tap it.
- Tap Restart and Finish Repair.
- Your iPhone will restart. You will then see the Repair Assistant on your screen. Tap Continue.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and tap Continue.
- Follow the steps on your screen. Your iPhone will connect to Apple and check the battery. This may take a few minutes.
- Complete the repair and allow your iPhone to restart.
Done! If you then go to Settings, the battery notification will have disappeared and the battery will have been approved for your iPhone. You can use your device again without worry.
Can’t see the option, or is it not working?
Then you don’t need to worry. The notification does not affect how your iPhone works and will gradually move into the background. You will see it on your Lock Screen for approximately 4 days and in the Settings app for approximately 14 days. After that, you will only find the information under Battery Health. Do you still have questions? Then contact our service desk.
How do I check the battery health?
On an iPhone, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. There you can see the maximum capacity of your battery. Would you like to see which parts have been replaced? Then go to Settings > General > About.
What warranty do I have on the battery?
The battery comes with a 2-year warranty. If its capacity drops below 70% during this period, we will replace the battery free of charge. This is separate from the 3-year warranty you receive on your device.
Do you think your battery is not working properly? Then contact our service desk first. This will prevent you from sending your device in unnecessarily.
